ACB Circular Variable Air Volume Device (VAV)
ACB Circular Variable Air Volume Device (VAV)
The ACB Circular VAV Device modulates airflow dynamically in round duct systems, enabling HVAC installations to deliver precisely the air volume each zone requires — reducing energy waste while maintaining consistent temperature and air quality throughout large buildings.
Zone-Level Airflow Regulation for Large Buildings
The ACB is a motorized variable air volume controller designed for integration into round ductwork in large commercial and institutional buildings. By continuously adjusting the damper blade position in response to occupancy signals or BMS commands, the ACB ensures each zone receives exactly the airflow it needs at any given moment — eliminating over-supply, reducing fan energy consumption, and preventing the temperature drift that occurs in fixed-volume systems when loads change.
Construction and Calibration
The ACB unit consists of four integrated elements: a galvanized steel casing (with AISI 304 stainless steel available on request), a motorized VAV damper, calibrated flow measurement sensors, and an airtight sealed damper blade. The flow sensors and motor are factory-mounted onto the casing, and each unit is individually calibrated to the customer's specified setpoint values before dispatch.
The damper blade rotates via a shaft driven by the VAV motor, and when commanded to the fully closed (shut-off) position, the EPDM blade seal achieves air tightness compliant with DIN EN 1751 — preventing cross-contamination between zones and ensuring the system can be fully isolated for maintenance or emergency shutdown.
