VGF Rectangular Fire Damper in UAE
VGF Rectangular Fire Damper
The VGF Rectangular Fire Damper is a passive fire protection component that automatically seals ventilation ductwork in the event of a fire, preventing flames, hot gases, and smoke from spreading between building compartments.
Compartment Separation and Fire Spread Prevention
The VGF damper is installed where ventilation ducts penetrate fire-rated walls or floors. When a fire develops in one section of the ventilation network, the VGF closes automatically — cutting the duct opening and preventing the spread of flames, heat, and smoke to adjacent fire compartments. This compartmentation is a fundamental requirement of building fire safety design and keeps evacuation routes clear while emergency services respond.
132-Minute Fire Resistance — Third-Party Tested
The VGF has been independently fire-resistance tested to EN 1366-2:2015 at Applus+ Laboratories, an ENAC-accredited test facility. The unit sustained the test for 132 minutes, achieving the EI 120 (ve ho i<->o) S classification under EN 13501-3:2005+A1:2009 — confirming both integrity and insulation performance in either direction of fire exposure.
ATEX Certification for Hazardous Areas:
Selected VGF variants carry ATEX certification to II 2G Ex h IIC T5 Gb / H 2D Ex h IIIC T100°C Db classification, qualifying them for installation in potentially explosive atmospheres — such as paint spray booths, solvent storage areas, and industrial process environments.
