Bypass Damper and Heat Recovery
The BGK unit recovers thermal energy from exhaust air before it is expelled from the building. As indoor air is drawn out, its heat load is transferred to the incoming fresh air stream through a high-efficiency cross-flow aluminum recuperator, recovering up to 50% of the thermal energy carried by the expelled air. The integrated bypass damper activates during mild weather to enable free-cooling mode — drawing in outdoor air directly without engaging the recuperator — and simultaneously protects the heat exchanger core from freezing during cold operating conditions.
AC Fan Performance and Speed Control
BGK units are driven by AC plug fans engineered for stable performance across varying static pressures. The integrated speed switch, supplied as standard, enables 5-speed airflow adjustment — allowing precise matching of ventilation output to the space's actual demand, from a low-noise overnight setting to maximum daytime flow rate. No additional controls or external wiring are required for basic commissioning.
